One Orthodontist - One Office Location

We have one office location and one orthodontist. You can count on Dr. Trahar's personal attention at every appointment!

Superior Customer Service & Excellence in Orthodontics

Dr. Trahar distinguishes herself from high- volume, multi-doctor practices by providing individual attention; combining personalized care in a soothing, intimate setting, one that is just like home. We utilize advanced orthodontic techniques, products, and materials, and actively coordinate your orthodontic treatment with your other dental providers. We offer digital photographs, study models, patient charts, and digital X-rays.

Local Community

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Mahatma Gandhi

Dr. Trahar has devoted much of her time, skill, and energy in charitable contributions…

  • NYC marathon runner for Fred’s Team: Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Research Center
  • Team leader and relay participant of ‘Smile for a Cure’ for Relay for Life: The American Cancer Society
  • Team leader for ‘Smiles by the Bay’: Hospice of the Chesapeake
  • Annual donation of a full orthodontic case to benefit the Hospice of the Chesapeake
  • Once a month, Dr. Trahar and staff, as stewards of The Community Smile Network volunteer their time and skill to The Caring Collection by Bobbie Burnett. They assist in the fabrication and assembly of stained glass angels; the sale and proceeds of which go to benefit Anne Arundel and Johns Hopkins Oncology Centers.

Social Awareness

Gandhi said it beautifully, “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Dr. Trahar believes that she has responsibility as a healthcare provider to educate, encourage, and demonstrate environmental consciousness. Every little step helps. Sign the save 90 a day campaign http://www.ecodentistry.org/ or turn in your Stonyfield yogurt cups to our office for recycling into toothbrushes.

Green Orthodontics

greenGoing green means choosing to use the most environmentally friendly techniques, procedures, and materials that are available in order to reduce waste and pollution, conserve energy and water, and recycle when at all possible; while promoting individual health and wellness. Significant green advances have been made in the orthodontic technology we now employ.

  • Digital x-rays reduce radiation exposure and eliminate the need for the use, storage, and disposal of toxic development chemicals.
  • Using digital study models in lieu of plaster models eliminates in office lab procedures reducing water consumption and plaster disposal.
  • Digital charting has significantly reduced the need and usage of paper products.
  • The use of steam based sterilization eliminates the need for chemical management and biodegradable surface disinfectants are now available.
  • We are now wearing Do No Harm Scrubs in our practice. Learn more about Do No Harm Scrubs at http://www.dnhdonoharm.com/repreve.htm.  The yarn used to make the scrubs is manufactured by Repreve and is made from recycled water bottles.
  • Through Environdent and Hu-Friedy we are now recycling our old, broken, and re-tipped instruments in an environmentally responsible way. With Environdent, we avoid landfills or refurbishing—instruments recycled through the program are sent to metal scrap recyclers so they can find new life in other items such as bridges, car bumpers and street lights.
  • We have become a recycling collection center for Stonyfield Yogurt cups. Stonyfield Yogurt cups can be recycled by Preserve into toothbrushes! http://www.preserveproducts.com/aboutus/partnerships.html
Bring in your cups and join us as we recycle and repurpose for a healthier you and community.

  • Strict inventory control; recycling of metal brackets and wires, plastic, paper, shipping boxes and packaging materials; the use of materials that no longer require water rinses between steps; energy efficient lighting, the use of non-VOC paint, and the use of  hand sanitizers are small but important in decreasing the impact of our practice on the environment.
  • We hope that you share in our enthusiasm for health, wellbeing, and sustainability. Just a simple change at home can help—By turning your water off while brushing your teeth you’ll be saving 90 glasses of water a day! Sign your pledge today to ‘turn off the tap.’
