Community Smile Network
Providing Orthodontic services in a Socially Responsible partnership with the Community
The Community Smile Network is a community service based financing program launched by Annapolis Orthodontist, Dr. Mary C. Trahar. The program is designed to offset orthodontic cost in exchange for community service to local non-profit organizations.
Participation in the program is simple; a patient can expect to receive a $10 credit to their orthodontic account for every verifiable hour of volunteer service worked. Account credit can be as much as 10% for Phase I treatment and 20% for Phase II, which includes full braces and Invisalign®.
The hours spent in volunteering are not limited to just the patient. In fact, other family members are encouraged to participate in volunteerism and endorse their service voucher to the patient. The goal of the Community Smile Network is to reinforce community service that is on a recurring basis and bring families together with a common purpose; ‘service before self.’
The Community Smile Network is working closely with the Volunteer Center for Anne Arundel County in an effort to coordinate service opportunities. The Community Smile Network is expected to reduce the cost of orthodontic care; bolster local volunteerism, and teach the invaluable lessons of volunteerism: humility, gratitude and altruism.
